MY JOURNEY INTO CONSCIOUSNESS is an intimate documentary about identity, illusion, and the unraveling of the self.
What began as a documentation of sacred plant medicine ceremonies gradually became something far more personal: a real-time portrait of a man unknowingly filming his own transformation.
Shot across Puerto Rico and within indigenous Taíno ceremonial spaces, the film follows filmmaker and martial artist Ramin Sohrab as the boundaries between observer and subject begin to dissolve. As the journey deepens, the camera captures not only the ceremonies themselves, but the slow collapse of identity, ambition, control, and the narratives that once defined him.
Blending raw vérité filmmaking with cinematic visual language, MY JOURNEY explores the tension between ego and truth, external success and inner emptiness, performance and authenticity. The film does not present awakening as an escape, but as a confrontation, a stripping away of illusion layer by layer until something real remains.
